Home Care

Optimum oral health starts at home, so after your dental visit we recommends that oral hygiene and maintenance continues at home using the proper oral health aids. Of these oral health aids, the most important are the toothbrush and the dental floss. It is important for parents to set a good example of proper oral hygiene routines for their children, to ensure optimum oral health into their adult years. In addition to the recommended regular exams and cleanings at your dentist’s office every six months, it is very important to both brush teeth twice daily, and floss at least once a day at home. It is important to brush teeth properly. We recommend that teeth are brushed for at least two minutes in light circular motions as to not harm the surrounding tissues and gums. Proper flossing technique can be learned through trial and error. Having worked with children for over 30 years we are more than willing to show you and your family the proper techniques for flossing during a routine exam. Call us today to schedule an appointment and best learn how to maintain your oral health.
