Sinus Augmentation

A sinus augmentation “sinus lift” is a procedure rebuilds the resorbed walls of bone that form the floor of the sinus. The floor of the sinus is raised and new bone is allowed to form. A sinus lift can help increase the volume of bone in order for a dental implant to be placed. With added bone between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses the dental implants can be placed and the missing teeth are replaced. To make room for the bone, the sinus membrane has to be moved upward, or “lifted.” Our doctors provide sinus augmentations for specific needs.

Recognizable candidates for a sinus lift procedure have these issues:

  • Missing more than one tooth in the back of the upper jaw
  • Missing teeth due a congenital defect or condition
  • Missing a large amount of bone in the back of the upper jaw
  • Missing most of the teeth in the upper jaw and need firm anchorage for multiple implant

Treatment and results are specific to each individual patient. Our doctors will have a specific recovery plan for you to follow to ensure the desired and successful outcome that brings your smile to life.
